Voice Your Support for Construction Jobs & Affordable Housing Today!

The Reno City Council will reviewing whether this project should be built Tomorrow on Wednesday, July 22 and we need your feedback sent by 4pm today.

The 3,995 homes planned at Daybreak represent an important step toward addressing the housing needs of middle-class working families in Reno. With their attainable prices, well-considered designs and access to nearby employment centers, Daybreak homes will provide a cornerstone for our bright economic future.

Last month, we asked you to send your thoughts to the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Board. Thank you if you did so! Now this is the next step and this project needs your continued support…

Reno needs more affordable housing: Reno's hardest working families can't get ahead with the region's high housing prices. The average per-capita income of $28,621 means that working people in the area pay 56 of their income for an average-priced apartment. Please support the creation of more housing at Daybreak to keep prices under control for the families creating the new Reno.

I support strong neighborhoods: Strong neighborhoods are the building blocks of strong cities. The design of Daybreak emphasizes the creation of vibrant neighborhoods that are walkable and friendly. I strongly urge you to support good new neighborhoods for Reno.

The Daybreak development will provide needed jobs for the area.

The vibrant economy of the Reno area depends on good and affordable housing for the skilled workers who keep our companies strong. We need increased supply of well-designed, affordable homes to meet the needs of working families. The new homes planned at Daybreak will help address that need. Please support these plans.

FHA mortgages are important to working families that need a loan with a low down payment to begin building their future. Daybreak will include more than 2,500 homes that are expected to be eligible for FHA financing. Please help working families get a good start in home ownership.

Daybreak provides attainably priced housing for Reno families near major employment centers, reducing commutes and improving quality of life. Please voice your support for this important project.

The Daybreak development uses space well: I urge your support for the smart, creative Daybreak development. These comfortable, livable homes eliminate the dead spaces that aren't useful in larger homes and emphasize the spaces that make life better. These are good homes in a good development.
