The Union opened negotiations for a successor Laborers Master Agreement in 2023. The new Laborers Master Agreement was ratified by the Local 169 membership on July 6, 2023.
The new three year agreement became effective on July 16, 2023. The three year agreement includes a total wage and benefit package of $7.50. In the first year, effective October 1, 2023, there will be a total package increase of $3.00, which was allocated as follows:
- Wages $2.40
- Pension $0.15
- Health and Welfare $0.10
- Vacation Benefit $0.25
- NRC $0.05
- LECET $0.02
- Training and Apprenticeship $0.03
The package increase of $2.25 for year 2 is to be allocated by the Union effective October 1, 2024. The package increase of $2.25 for year 3 to be allocated by the Union effective October 1, 2025. The package allocation recommendation for year 2 usually takes place at the April Union meeting. As a result of the year one allocation the hourly dues check-off increased to $1.35 per hour.
Both the Brick Hod Carriers and the Plaster Hod Carriers Agreements were extended one year and both agreements increased by $3.00 which was allocated to match the Laborers Master Agreement allocation (see above).
